Ciba Polymer Color Masterbatches

Is it possible to paint plastics only with masterbatch?

Today, masterbatches are an integral part of the production process of plastic products, which has transformed the world of plastics industry with the increasing quality and variety of these products. Masterbatches are products in which pigments (powder paints) are melted with organic matter and other additives in a process and mixed with a base thermoplastic. This thermoplastic base can be one of the types of polyethylenes, polypropylene, polystyrene and other industrial polymers.
Since masterbatches are made for a limited number of industrially used plastics, it is necessary to provide information about the ability of plastics to be stained with pigment.
Due to the chemical nature of plastic, the desired color can be selected for it

Masterbatch production process:

For mixing paint and additives with polymer base and producing masterbatch, a double-screw extruder is also used.

This process includes: weighing, importing feed, transferring, melting, dispersing and homogenizing, removing annoying gases, filtering and granulating.

Mixing consists of 4 steps:

Moisturizing additive pigment and filler
Mixing and spreading pigments and additives in polymer base
Distribution of pigments, additives and fillers in the polymer melt
Stabilize the mixture and prevent lumps or lumps
